Arnaldo J. López is an arts manager and development strategist with a Ph.D. in Latin/o American Literatures and Cultures from New York University. He joined Pregones to help carry out its first capital campaign, successfully transforming a South Bronx warehouse into a vibrant performing arts center and is part of the leadership team that engineered merger with Puerto Rican Traveling Theater in Manhattan. As the company’s first Development Officer, and now its first Managing Director, he plays a key role in diversified fundraising from government, corporations, foundations, and individuals. Versed in a broad range of creative, community, and nonprofit topics, he also serves as advisor and consultant to other organizations and individuals mapping paths towards sustainable arts practice. His background includes ten years in letterpress/graphic design and five years of college-level teaching. He is a proud member of The Bronx Council on the Arts, a frequent collaborator with the National Association of Latino Arts and Cultures, associate consultant to national cohorts of The DeVos Institute of Arts Management at The University of Maryland and the Bloomberg Philanthropies Arts Innovation and Management (AIM) program, steering committee member for Mosaic Network and Fund in The New York Community Trust, and co-founder of LxNY | Latinx Arts Consortium of New York.
