  • ROBOETHICS. Director: Rut Angielina. 20. Tenerife, Spain. 5 min. When should you start treating a robot like a person? Lara and Sergio will soon discover that a human guardian can be more dangerous than an artificial one, since robots may react more humanly than humans themselves.
  • ARTIFICIAL BID. Director: Shira Haimovici. 2018. United Kingdom. 10 min. In the nearer future, Eve, a chatterbox yet lonely elderly lady, gets a humanoid robot as a replacement to her bridge partner who just passed away. What turns to be not the best idea…
  • DARE NOT FLY. Director: Chuyi Chen. 2018. Taiwan. 18:20 min. Shen Si Yan, who lived under the strong fetters of her mother, was like a bird blindfolded, but could not fly. When it comes to daily chores, friends, work and mate are all interfered. Even if words have stepped out of society, mother still does not allow her to make her own choices. How can she survive without compromise, loss of self thinking, and mother who is bent on loving her daughter?
  • MILK. Director: Pennie Hunt. 20. New Zealand. 16 min. January 1945: on a lonely farm in coastal New Zealand, a young widow confronts two crewmen from a German submarine who have come ashore on a secret mission – to get fresh milk.
  • THE WARIA OF JAVA. Director: Ana Gonzalez. 20. Indonesia. 13 min. Shinta Ratri is the founder of the world’s first and only Islamic school run by and for transgender women. Over a decade ago, Shinta opened Al-Fatah Pesantren in the Muslim city of Yogyakarta. Her goal: to offer fellow waria* the opportunity to discuss and practice their Islamic faith in a communal space. The waria community of Yogyakarta has been threatened by ultra-conservative groups.
  • uNpACKAGING. Director: ziREJA. 20. Tenerife, Spain. 9 min. The short film “uNPACKAGING” presents the uncomfortable truth of how trash starts by being left scattered on the street during an outdoor party, to how it arrives to nature by various ways. With the main theme being the environmental costs of large street parties, this film, which mixes fiction and activism, shows the “b” side of all massive parties

More About The Artists – Click To Open

RUT ANGIELINA is a director, cinematographer and technician in realization and production of audiovisual projects and shows. Her foray into the audiovisual world begins at the age of 14, directing and recording small homemade films. At 17 she becomes part of different theater groups, initially in charge of the technical side and later as a stage director. In 2012, she founds “Lunáticos Teatro”, participating as a stage director and company in “La Búsqueda” (2013), “Ajedrez” (2014) and “The Mousetrap” (2015)

ziREJA began her career as a professional actress and dancer, performing in the theatre. She then translated the concept of using her body as a tool for social change into contemporary art. ziREjA is co-founder of the collaborative art project ‘Acción Experimental’, which provides an experimental space for artists who value the body as a tool of action.
