Get On The Train! Bronx Stories

About how we get around and HOW WE GET ON!
48 Hours In... The Bronx

The subway is the main public transportation system in New York City, and one of the oldest and largest in the world. Its trains provide mobility to millions of riders, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Those who know will say that to see the real New York you must ride the train. The legendary elevated and subway rails of the Boogie Down are brimming with stories waiting to be told. For Pregones/PRTT‘s third-time partnership with the award-winning producers of Harlem9’s 48 Hours In… El Bronx series, we’re calling on 6 playwrights, 6 directors, and 18 actors to give us just that: Get On The Train! Bronx Stories.

A phenomenal roster of Latinx artists will convene for this intensive, weekend-long, theater-making marathon. A curated selection of photographs and poems depicting Bronx trains and train stations will serve as their inspiration. Activities culminate in performance of six brand-new 10-minute plays before a live audience!
