Pregones/PRTT with R.Evolución Latina

Pregones/Puerto Rican Traveling Theater and R.Evolución Latina announce the 2025 edition of their joint Raúl Juliá Training Unit (RJTU) and Beyond Workshop Series (BWS), an acclaimed program that challenges practicing and aspiring artists to strengthen their technical skills in dance, acting, and voice while fostering self-confidence and leadership abilities.

This one-of-a-kind interdisciplinary program offers performing arts training with a unique emphasis on ensemble work and community building.

Through collaborative classes participants will enhance their artistry and storytelling while deepening their understanding of what it means to create as part of an ensemble. The program will culminate in a unique showcase opportunity. Participants accepted into the workshop will have the chance to participate in the 2025 RJTU + BWS showcase production—a new work in development directed by Luis Salgado. While participation in the showcase is an exciting opportunity, it is not mandatory and does not impact involvement in the program.

Instruction is imparted by a team of award-winning Broadway and Off-Broadway professionals led by Luis Salgado and Rosalba Rolón.

The application period for opens January 6 and closes January 20, 2025. We are looking for passionate artists who are committed to personal growth and using their art to make a positive impact. Creatives from all disciplines, experience levels, and backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

COST AND COMMITMENT:

  • FREE • NO COST! This program is created to further the growth of artists that are committed to giving back. Those accepted into the 2025 RJTU + BWS will receive a full scholarship. The estimated value of this comprehensive training is $3,500—an investment in your growth and our shared vision. In return, participants are asked to pay it forward by volunteering of their time and talents to help others go beyond.
  • Pregones/PRTT and R.Evolución Latina provide this platform as a means to empower professional and aspiring artists. We believe that coming together as creative community makes us stronger, and that all tools have a place in our creative practice!

Pregones/PRTT and R.Evolución Latina proudly collaborate as a way honor and amplify the legacy of Miriam Colón (1936-2017) and Raúl Juliá (1940-1994), two titans who helped pave the way for all Latinx artists today.
