Pregones Theater & The Puerto Rican Traveling Theater in collaboration with Lincoln Center Out of Doors’ LA CASITA, present
2015 SUMMER PARTY with LA CASITA!
[tab:ABOUT]
One of our most popular free outdoor events, this dynamic celebration provides a fun summer afternoon of performances, a live preview of Pregones/PRTT’s upcoming season and much more!
This year’s gathering honors African American poets Sonia Sanchez and Ntozake Shange, central figures in the Black Arts movement. Activists and powerful voices come together and channel the streams that influenced these pioneering poets in an entertaining summer gathering full of music and celebration. Chronicling the joys and struggles of identity and history, wordsmiths share the stage with musicians from the diaspora in this thought-provoking tribute.
