The intensive provides aspiring artists with hands-on learning imparted by seasoned performing arts professionals with Broadway, Off-Broadway, Off-Off Broadway, film and television credits. IN PERSON – 4:00pm on November 14, 2021 – The Open Gates Project: Inaugural Season presents THE DIVINE FEMININE: Centering Women of Color in Early Music featuring thirteen extraordinary women musicians. From the works of Cozzolani, Caccini, and Strozzi, to the texts of New World visionary (and reclaimed Latinx icon) Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, the artists will explore themes of femininity, culminating in a performance of Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater. We Have Iré at Re:Encuentro

Alternating between 1970s and present day NY, between historic fact and poetic fiction, TORCHED! lifts the voices of victims, residents, workers, and firefighters. Alternating from past to present and pulsing to salsa and hip hop sounds, the show is part investigative theater and part poetic fiction—delivered by Pregones/PRTT’s Latinx ensemble cast of ten actors/musicians under the direction of award-winning artists Rosalba Rolón and Desmar Guevara.
