Featured event at Cara Mía Theatre Co.’s Latinidades Festival!

Join us at CARA MÍA THEATRE CO.‘s Latinidades Festival! SONERO in Dallas.

FOUR PERFORMANCES ONLY!

Latino Cultural Center Dallas – 2600 Live Oak Street, Dallas, Texas.

The first full-length play by poet, actor, singer, and Latinx favorite Flaco Navaja and directed by Jorge B. Merced is a fresh epic about growing up, getting inspired, and staying on track. With unabashed love for the people of The Bronx, a gift for crafting memorable characters, and genuine good humor, Navaja and three top-notch musicians —aka The Razor Blades— bring on the charm, the rhythm, and the soul. Paying homage to many great musical icons —from Janis Joplin to Menudo, from The Doors to Héctor Lavoe, from Jimi Hendrix to Rubén Blades— Evolution of A Sonero is as much about Navaja’s creative evolution as it is about the mix that already makes our América great! Strictly limited engagement. Performed in English and Spanish. Don’t miss SONERO in Dallas.

A touring production of Pregones/PRTT, developed with support from our Step Up Artist in Residence initiative, funded by The New York Community Trust.

Presented by Cara Mía Theatre Co. as part of LATINIDADES: A Festival of Solo Shows, featuring unique Latinx performers, stories, and experiences from around the United States.

Founded in 1996, Cara Mía Theatre inspires and engages people to uplift their communities through transformative Latinx theatre, multicultural youth arts experiences and community action. David Lozano, Executive Artistic Director.
