William Torres is a bass player with equal passion for both classical and popular music. One night he could be playing with the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra in Carnegie Hall, the next he could be part of singer/songwriter Alí Tapia’s band at the Festival de Claridad. His chamber music group, Laura En Albanta can be heard on La Herida, Mimi Maura’s album dedicated to her father. William is also a musician in the theater ensemble Agua, Sol y Sereno. Born and raised in Ponce, William holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in Double Bass Performance from the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music and Roosevelt University respectively.
