NOW Ensemble is dedicated to making new chamber music for the 21st century. The group has worked with composers Nico Muhly and Missy Mazzoli, and collaborated with filmmaker Joshua Frankel on “Plan of the City,” a project hailed as “gorgeous” by The New Yorker critic Alex Ross. With an instrumental line-up of flute, clarinet, electric guitar, bass, and piano, the NOW Ensemble brings a new look to the classical tradition by tapping into the eclectic musical backgrounds of its members who have worked with The National, Bang on a Can, eighth blackbird, and others.
