Praised for her “confidence and sound technique” (South Florida Classical Review), Italian/ Swiss pianist Chantal Balestri is an accomplished and versatile musician active in the European and American music scenes. Highlights of her recent career include nomination as President of the New York chapter of the World Piano Teachers Association (WPTA) and her upcoming tour dates in Europe and China. She has performed with the Brooklyn Symphony Orchestra, the Garden State Symphony Orchestra, and the Symphony Orchestra of the Americas.

Puerto Rico Earthquake Relief for Artists / In light of damages and sustained duress resulting from seismic activity in the island, Pregones/PRTT has reignited a new round of emergency micro-grants to affected artists in Puerto Rico starting January 2020. The initiative is modeled on the success of our theater’s prior Hurricane María Relief Drive for Artists, which provided no-strings assistance to artist households on the island in 2017-2018. After her debut as a soloist with orchestra at age 13, she has concertized through Europe and North America at venues including Carnegie Hall (Weill and Stern), Lincoln Center, DiMenna Center, Greenfield Hall (New York, USA), Miniaci Performing Art Center (Miami, USA), Wiener Saal (Austria), Sala Piatti (Bergamo, Italy), Sala Stradivari (Cremona, Italy), Kaisersaal der Historisches Kaufhaus (Freiburg, Germany), Auditorium de La Lonja (Orihuela, Spain), Auditorium De Universidade (Aveiro, Portugal).
Since the age of seven, Chantal has won numerous national and international competitions and scholarships, including the Osimo International Piano Competition and, most recently, the Miami Piano Festival 2017 and the NYU Piano Concerto Competition 2016. Her repertoire includes a wide range of styles, from Baroque to contemporary eras. She has presented premeries of solo and chamber music works, including Massimo Giuntoli’s “Piano store” commissioned by Yamaha Piano Europe. She has performed in important contemporary music Festivals, including “Composers Now Festival” where she has presented pieces for piano solo, and piano and recorded tape.
As orchestral pianist, she has performed with the Brooklyn Symphony Orchestra, the Garden State Symphony Orchestra and the Symphony Orchestra of the Americas.
Chantal earnes BM an MM degrees with honors at the Lucca Conservatory (Italy) at the age of 18 and 21 and received a MM with honors “for extraordinary achievement” at the New York University.
She has been invited to perform in music festivals including MusicAlp Festival (Courchevel, France), International Piano Academy (Freiburg, Germany), the Summer Academy of Mozarteum (Salzburg, Austria), Euro Music Festival (Halle, Germany), Miami International Piano Festival, Ferrara Piano Festival.
Chantal was an adjunct faculty member in Piano Studies at New York University . Upcoming engagements are solo and chamber music concerts in NYC, including her debut with the Spring Hill Orchestra in Nashville. Further, Chantal is scheduled for a solo tourney in Europe in March 2019 and in China in April 2019, where she will perform for the first time
