Embark on a journey through the magic of animation film— where stories come alive to inform, inspire, and reveal real tales from every corner of the globe. Discover the profound truths and brave viewpoints that push the boundaries of perception.
- THE SILENT ROUTE, United Kingdom. Director: Merve Cirisoglu During the war years when women were kidnapped and tortured in concentration camps, a young woman was struggling to cross the border with her newborn baby and three elderly relatives. However, their ox-cart got stuck on a muddy road near the security post. While their minds were obsessed with the possibility of being apprehended by the enemy, the magic of humanity brought out something unexpected.
- FISHBOWL WORLD, Spain. Director: Marco Antonio Toledo Abdou, upset by the general social, economic, and political situation, faces the harsh reality by seeking a symbolic change that will take him out of “his fishbowl”.
- IMPURRFECTION, Taiwan. Director: Chiang Yao. Mr. Cat has aquaphobia, and he was too terrified to swim in the zodiac race to fulfill his dream of becoming the Guardian God of the Year. He has since lived regretfully by the sea, overlooking the race’s destination every day for countless years, until an accident brings him closer and closer to the water.
- MORE THAN TWO, Taiwan. Director: Yen Sheng, Wu. This film is about two aliens Robin and Ashley, who came to Earth as an alien biologist from a planet named Ocean, their purpose is to sneak into human society, observe, record and experience human life and culture. Originally everything was going well, but gradually Robin and Ashley began to realize that there are some unwritten rules on this planet, which are the regulations of life that human beings must obey (that is, gender stereotypes).
- LIONVERSE, Hong Kong. Director: Hayden Chun. When we question our youngsters about the Spirit of Lion Rock, they found that they hesitate and they are not able to answer. It is because our youngsters had never experienced the hardest period in Hong Kong before. Hong Kong is now cooling down from her vigorous growth in the past. From the saying of elders that go, the Spirit of Lion Rock is “as you reap, so you sow”. What a sigh to say that the spirit that we are proud of is being forgotten by the time. Coming to this generation, what does the Spirit of Lion Rock truly mean to us?
