Step Up Artist in Residence at Pregones/PRTT

Sunday, November 18, 2018
at Pregones Theater in The Bronx

An unlit candle.
A plastic flower.
A cardboard box.
A collage of movement, text and video is an offering to the Bronx, a glimpse into the memories that fill the absence of a place faced with forgetting, erasure, transformation and possibility.
Mapping shifting landscapes and tracing the residue of what’s left behind, we navigate the intricate relationship between memory and geography and time. An invitation to reclaim and empower.
Bring Me Flowers is an evolving new dance work that explores how a community responds to change, transformation, and attempts at erasure such as we experience in the South Bronx today. Dancer and choreographer Alethea Pace puts her nimble artistry at the service of memory, history, and collective empowerment. Made possible with support from Pregones/PRTT’s Step Up Artist Residency initiative.
