We are always looking for self-motivated arts and culture enthusiasts with a knack for grassroots, community-based outreach and teamwork. Volunteer opportunities include:
- audience survey administration
- event monitoring and facilitation
- selected front-of-house patron services
- Latino arts ambassador at community events
- phone fund drives
Volunteers interact directly with our staff, artists, members from our local community, and cultural visitors from throughout New York City and from around the world.
A courteous disposition, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills are greatly valued in our volunteers. Bilingual Spanish/English fluency and knowledge of Latino culture are desirable but not required.
Typically, a Pregones PRTT volunteer will insure a welcoming environment for all visitors; help distribute information about theater programs and events; provide assistance to children, the elderly, and persons with disabilities; assist in the sale of refreshments and artistic merchandise; and give important feedback about how the theater can improve its services. Occasionally, highly qualified volunteers get involved in initiatives launched by our Board of Directors or enter into our Circle of Scholars.
