An experimental workshop performance

Raven v. Vejigante! Drawing from the riches of two distinct communities, A Tale of Two Tricksters is an evolving new performance project by the artists of the Alaska Native Heritage Center (ANHC) and Pregones/Puerto Rican Traveling Theater (Pregones/PRTT). Using the web, digital media, and in-person interactions, we are bridging the geographic distance between The Bronx and Anchorage to see what it’s like for each of us to champion culture, language, and authentic creative expression in these United States. After a year of sharing, study, and exchange —and with live-stream technology support provided by Art Bridge at Artspace Projects in Minnesota— a brand new work is born!

Catch our first public showing on SATURDAY, APRIL 14, at 8PM EST:

  • JOIN LIVE: Join us at Pregones in The Bronx, or at ANHC in Anchorage.
  • LIVE-STREAM: Point your browser to artspace.org/artbridge.

ARTISTS — For ANHC: Loren Anderson, Stephen Blanchett, Ed Tiulana, Tatiana Ticknor, Allison Warden. For Pregones/PRTT: Christin Eve Cato, Sol M. Crespo, Desmar Guevara, Cedric Leiba, Jr., Jorge B. Merced. TECHNICIANS — Jessica Moya, s.o. O’Brien.

This program is made possible, in part, by grants from the Network of Ensemble Theaters’ Travel & Exchange Network (NET/TEN), supported by lead funding from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, www.ensembletheaters.net, and from the National Endowment for the Arts, www.arts.gov.
